When performing duplex ultrasound, the operator uses two forms of ultrasound. The conventional ultrasound shows the structure of the blood vessels and the Doppler ultrasound shows the movement of the red blood cells through the vessels. Duplex ultrasound produces images that can be color coded to show physicians where the blood flow is severely blocked as well as the speed and direction of blood flow. This course is designed to teach the basis and the practical applications of this innovation. The course is featured with hands on experience on real patients and live demonstrations of real cases.
