Dear colleagues:

On Behalf of the Local Organizing Committee , we take great pleasure in welcoming you to take part in our 1st Eastern Mediterranean Regional Infection Control Congress and the 14th Annual Conference of the Egyptian Society of Infection Control 15th- 17th November, 2005.
This is a first time collaboration between Egyptian Society of Infection Control (ESIC),the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Network of Infection Control (EMRNIC),the International Federation of Infection Control (IFIC), The Eastern Mediterranean Regional office (EMRO/WHO), the Egyptian Ministry of Health and population (MOHP) and US-Naval Medical Research Unit,No.3 (Namru-3), under the theme:

Infection Control in the Eastern Mediterranean Region "Building Capacities"

Infection Control is still developing in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Local Governments and different health institutions are starting to consider implementation of nation-wide infection control programs that need development of infection control policies and appropriate setting of infection control strategies . Countries have to institute coordinated approaches with proper guidance and legislation. A regional congress is required where countries can share their experience in developing infection control,
exchange information, and discuss current Issues, challenges faced and lessons learned. Basic and advanced knowledge of the recent infection control will be provided by distinguished invited regional and international speakers.
We promise you that this meeting will provide itself to be a feast of rich scientifically rich by providing updated knowledge, supporting countries ' development of a clear vision on how to implement infection control , and integrating and coordinating efforts within the region . in addition you will enjoy the hospitality of the Egyptian Culture and ancient history.

Guidelines for abstract submission:

The abstract should be written in English ( max 150 words ) and submitted to the scientific committee with the filled out abstract submission form in either of two ways

1-by delivering to the congress secretariat as a floppy desk or CD (save as a Microsoft word document) with printed copy or

2- Sending by e-mail as an attached file(save as a Microsoft word document) to emrnic@yahoo.com

-Abstract submission form is also available on the congress website ,you can download,fill in the spaces and return it with the abstract by e-mail as an attached files to emrnic@yahoo.com

Note:

- Delegates who sent their abstracts by e-mail will receive notice to confirm receipt

-Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail by 15th october2005

-all presenters of accepted abstracts will be expected to have registered for the congress and to have sent the appropriate payment.
