On Behalf of the Local Organizing Committee , we take great pleasure in welcoming you to take part in our 1st Eastern Mediterranean Regional Infection Control Congress and the 14th Annual Conference of the Egyptian Society of Infection Control 15th- 17th November, 2005. This is a first time collaboration between (ESIC), Eastern Mediterranean Regional Network of Infection Control (EMRNIC), International Federation of Infection Control (IFIC), The Eastern Mediterranean Regional office (EMRO/WHO), Arab Medical Union (AMU) and US-Naval Medical Research Unit, No.3 (Namru-3), under thetheme:

Infection Control in the Eastern Mediterranean Region "Building Capacities"

Infection Control is still developing in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Governments and health providers are starting to consider implementation of nation-wide infection control programs and develop infection control policies. Countries have to institute coordinated approaches with proper guidance and legislation. A regional conference is needed where countries can share their experience in developing infection control, discuss current Issues, challenges faced and lessons learned. Basic and advanced knowledge of the recent infection control precautions will be provided by distinguished invited international speakers.

We promise you that this meeting will prove itself to be a feast of rich scientific manifestations to be directed to solve the problems and to support countries' development of a clear vision on how to implement infection control in the different countries, without forgetting the social and cultural taste of Egypt.
